A Weld District Court judge ruled last week to keep Windsor’s Legends sports complex closed—stating the Town showed clear evidence of safety issues that require the owners to meet a list of fixes before reopening.

Mosquitoes caught in Weld County have tested positive for West Nile Virus in Zones 1 and 2 + no human cases have been reported yet.

Health officials expect the virus to affect more people as hot weather extends mosquito activity in July and August.

Today, Weld County commissioners awarded over $11.6 million in private activity bonds to Big Red Development LLC and Kentro Group for affordable housing projects in Johnstown and Firestone.

Big Red Development will build a 129-unit complex in Firestone to serve about 300 low- and moderate-income residents—together with Kentro Group, they plan to create 264 affordable units.
