Xcel Energy filed a plan to ask for $100 million over the summer so electricity can keep flowing as temperatures rise and the 750-megawatt Comanche 3 coal plant is shut down *per regulator orders*.
The plan includes $4.6 million for repairs and will proceed once Colorado regulators approve it.
🌲 Environment
Water began filling Chimney Hollow Reservoir on Tuesday with 1,500 acre-feet added—part of a limited phase to collect data on uranium levels that may affect a future water supply project for communities along the northern Front Range.
It is a key step in the Windy Gap Firming Project.
